...what do they all have in common...our past 2 days! - Please read on -
Best Sighting of the Day!

Hey friends,
Where did we leave you waiting in anticipation...hmm... ah yes...being dropped of in Dungarven and heading to Youghal with our new friend Valerie! Valerie is from Limmerick and her husband is from Munich and they have two boys, Connor and John, who have made Kelly and I both want lil' Irish-German boys! We also have housemates, Brieux and Hyacinthe (we call him Jimmy). They were with us in Tramore and were our connection here! Fun to be hoping spots with them.
Our first night we had a family meal and movie night watching "race to witch mountain" with no other than THE ROCK! - and let us not forget to mention that Connor and John have bearded dragons who are let out of their cages atleast once a day to roam free in the house...for instance, during the movie! Watch your step as we say. We woke up the next day and enjoyed an asortment of cheeses and meats on toast, had a water fight (the boys anyways) and then loaded into a mercedes motor van, complete with kitchenette, bathroom, shower, table, couches, etc... We only travel in luxury. Valerie took us to the country for a hike to see a historic old bridge and then great sight seeing view points along the way. We stopped into Lismore to walk around with the Frenchies and bought the lil' boys some treats. We loaded back into the camper, played some american and french card games and almost got sick being tossed around in the back - but can't complain.
Back at home the frenchies and us made dinner together and enjoyed some wine and family time. Our meal couldn't be complete without american's reading french, french reading american slang, and both trying to read German. Examples: Jimmy and Brieux had us read..."I dream all night of Brieux and Jimmy's seductive bodies that are like greek Gods and surf better than Chuck Norris" hahaha! - We sadly had them read ghetto slang... "Hey Ya'll, check out my new kicks, don't they make me look Phat! Sike playays! Peace my gangstas." So stupid, but so funny! After dinner we enjoyed some skateboarding races outside, Kelly won and then took a family photo. The frenchies, Val and us headed down to the pub looking for live music, and shocking...found none...but tonight is the night!!!!! We've been promised.
Amy and I awoke this morning at 10am - hard life - and headed into Youghal and had another beautiful day at the beach. God likes us! We walked around town and found that signs saying "concealled entrance" means dead end...we found this out the hard way!
We are learning to make Shepherd's pie tonight from Val the Limmerick native. So excited! Then we are headed to that music.
Final note: Since Day one we have been reading an entry from "Utmost for His highest" each day, in our selected spot and it is amazing how relevant the topics each day connect with our lives. We are so thankful that we are in the same spot and season of life. On this trip God has been so faithful. Earlier this week we got the opportunity to share a little of our faith with some of our new friends. It's great to have opportunities like this pop up and we pray for more - you can too! We are learning alot, growing, and soaking up every moment!

View from beach on Youghal shore!
Amy and Kelly falling from sky...capes and all. This is one of maybe 26 photos we took. Attempting leap frog was probably the funniest and most painful!VIDEO: We asked the French Boys to say something to us in French about how wonderful we are for us to share with our friends...their facial expressions had as wondering if what they were saying was actually nice/appropriate...haha, either way it had us in stiches!

Amy, you're hilarious! Glad to see you're bonding fast with so many people. I will be praying for those little opportunities;). Might I add that you two look like quite talented jumpers:). How did you jump so high? Also, that van looks like an awesome way to get around:) Miss you, hope all is well still:). Enjoying the posts:)
ReplyDeleteYou must be about eight hours ahead, seeing as how it said I posted my comment tomorrow:)
